After setup: What runs automatically

Once setup is finished, MustardHub moves from onboarding mode and is ready for use across the Organization.

The system does not require continuous administration to function. Recognition, participation, and signals are designed to emerge through normal team activity rather than ongoing configuration.

In most Organizations, leaders or managers naturally model early usage. After that, the system continues operating in the background, capturing activity and patterns as people engage.

You do not need to actively use MustardHub daily for it to work.

What runs automatically

After setup, several components run continuously without Admin intervention.

  • Recognition and participation flows
Members can continue to recognize, celebrate, and engage based on your Organization's structure.
  • Activity tracking and signal collection
The system observes participation, consistency, and engagement patterns as they occur.
  • Workspace-level signals
As activity accumulates, high-level indicators may automatically surface. These reflect what is happening, not actions you are required to take.
  • System stability
MustardHub is designed to behave predictably once configured. No recurring setup steps are required to keep it running.
If nothing changes, the system continues to do exactly what it was configured to do.

What to occasionally review

While MustardHub is low-touch by design, some Admins choose to check in periodically to get more information.

You do not need to track daily usage or continually review user activity. MustardHub is designed to be easy to use because it functions without constant oversight.

This is optional, not required.

You may occasionally notice:

  • New surfaces or summaries become available as more activity occurs
  • Signals that reflect how consistently the system is being used
  • Questions from managers or team members as adoption grows
  • Features and settings you may want to adjust or optimize

See Culture Studio to understand how system surfaces evolve over time.

See Workspace Strength Score for a high-level explanation of what certain signals represent.

What to refine

Once MustardHub has been running for a while, some Organizations choose to make intentional refinements.

This is not required, but it is an opportunity to shape how the system supports your culture more precisely over time.

Refinement may include:

  • Adjusting how recognition, celebrations, or prompts are framed
  • Enabling additional engagement or activity surfaces
  • Exploring advanced analytics or predictive insights as more data accumulates
  • Aligning system behavior more closely with evolving cultural goals

These refinements are described primarily in Culture Studio, which explains what can be adjusted and why teams choose to do so.

Advanced analytics and predictive insights may also become more meaningful as more context is collected. Those concepts are introduced in Workspace Strength Score.

Common concerns after getting started

  • Is it okay if usage feels light at first?
Yes. Early usage often reflects normal adoption patterns, not a setup issue.
  • Am I missing something important?
If something requires your attention, it will be visible. Silence usually indicates stability.
  • Do I need to keep tuning the system?
No. Tuning and refinement are optional and intentionally decoupled from ongoing operation.
